Just One Sing

Just One Sing

(this is a weekly 1-point sermon reflection by Brother York Sing)

Since May 1st 2022, I have reflected on the Sunday Service messages. How? I will pick just one part of the message that I identify with strongly and write a response to that. Of course you may say that this may not do justice to the entire message but the rationale is not to write a critical analysis of the whole message; it’s simply my personal response. It’s also not lengthy so I hope others can join me as it is not too hard to do too.

The heading which I give is ‘Just One Sing’ with the pun on ‘thing’ with ‘sing’ as, to sing is to feel good about things and it is my last name too.

Preacher – Bro Cai
Title – Immanuel God is with us

Immanuel God is with us

I feel God’s humility in today’s message. Although it was a Christmas message there was none of the pomp and pageantry one would expect of a message befitting the occasion. Instead, Bro Cai delivered a down-to-earth message that could have taken place in the manger where Jesus was born. I felt the warmth and comfort of His humility in the message.

And it was hard for me to find that magical gem I was looking for. Why? Because the whole message was a gem. It speaks of God’s often subtle and gentle touches as He works behind the scene. We are often put off by people when they reach out to us or try to communicate with us and the spirit of the communication is often lost because of our prejudices against others. However, with Immanuel, He soothes things over and because He is with us, we can feel safe as we were saved by Him in the first place. Hopefully we are able to feel the humble but comforting Hand behind the efforts of others who are bringing the good news to us.
