Seek Your God

To me, I have heard many times about Abraham being the father of faith and obedience but it was the first time today that I heard about the noteworthy obedience of his son, Isaac. 

It’s true that Isaac was a young boy then when his father obeyed God’s command for him to be offered as a sacrifice. But let’s not forget as a young boy he made the harsh 3-day journey to Mount Moriah where the sacrifice was to happen and he even allowed himself to be bound by his father and laid on the altar. Surely he would have understood what it all meant even as a young boy.

Pastor Humphrey then drew a similarity between Isaac’s obedience to Jesus’s own obedience as the sacrificial lamb to save mankind. 

In Jesus’s case, God did not hold back and He was sacrificed and contrary to what people used to say, the rest is history. It is Jesus’s act of obedience that rewrote the history of mankind and turn history on its head.
