In God’s Presence
Sister Catherine posed the question ‘how to be in His presence?’
In Exodus 17:9, Moses commanded Joshua to select some men and fight the Amalikites. Joshua would actually be on the battlefield whereas Moses would, with God’s help, support him from a vantage point.
Joshua never questioned Moses but did as he was told and without a doubt, God’s presence was with him for he was able to triumph over the enemies.
Sister Catherine then listed 4 ways that we can be in God’s presence:
- Read the scriptures
- Pray for the Holy Spirit to give us wisdom regarding what we read
- Ask for divine encounters with God
- Commit time for our Lord
My gem is with ‘asking for divine encounters with God’ for this is something we don’t often do but why? Indeed we should for we have been told often enough ‘ask and you would be given’. So we must be bold to seek Him by asking for his divine presence.
