Preacher: Ps Png
Title: Do all to the glory of God
Do all to the glory of God
This main biblical reference for this morning’s message was taken from 1 Peter 4:7-11.
After more than 5 months of having various speakers touching upon 1 Cor 10:31, Ps Png asked the congregation how they had been eating, drinking and doing. It is a good milestone check. Then she reminded the congregation that all of us had to give an account during Judgement Day and it would be all fair for we were created to give glory to God.
She also made reference to the Great Commission and the two greatest commandments as responsibilities that we must carry.
After the lead-in, she spelt out 4 ways to serve to the Glory of God.
- Serve God with the End in Mind (1 Peter 4:7)
The end refers to the fact that the end-time is near and we are to bear that in mind. - Serve God with a Fervent Love (1 Peter 4:7-8)
She reminded the congregation to be fervent in prayers and quoted that ‘fervent love will cover a multitude of sins’. - Serve God with a Hospitable Heart (1 Peter 4:9)
Here she said we were to be hospitable to one another without grumbling. - We are instructed to Serve God with the Gifts we have Received (1Peter 10-11)
Here we are to use our unique God-given gifts for His service.
In conclusion, Ps Png mentioned it is our business to know God better and better. The better we know him, the more we love him. The more we love him, the more we trust him. The more we trust him, the more we obey him, and He will be glorified in everything we do.
And in that conclusion lies my gem.
