The Great Commission

Pastor Lam equates the commission found in Matt 28:18-20 as a warrant to do God’s work of bringing in believers into His fold.

But what greater pressure is there than the ‘stress’ of eternity? I find this question especially pertinent in carrying out His work for therein lies the motive and purpose of the great commission. And therein lies our ‘stress’ too.

To me the stress cuts because as believers, if we do not carry out His warrant, we may miss eternity ourselves. It cuts because if we do not carry out His warrant, our loved ones will miss eternity. It cuts because if we wait too long to do this work, we are prolonging our ‘stress’.

Hence, like what the Pastor said it is imperative to do this work ‘as we go’ which means ‘here and now’.
