In the House of the Heavenly Father

I was not able to connect immediately with the core of Mrs Kao’s message this morning until I went home to read through Luke 2: 41 – 52 from which her message was based. And I was soon nodding my head in agreement. How powerful, for therein lies the ‘secret’ of her message when Jesus asked his parents after they had found him after 3 days, “Why were you searching for me? Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” But they did not understand what he was saying to them.

Mrs Kao did preamp this when she said we must understand which perspective Jesus took when He was speaking to his parents. He was assuming the role of Jesus, the Messiah.

The congregation was amused when Mrs Kao shared that she ever lost one of her children in a shopping mall once and her child mentioned to the security personnel that his mother was lost and not he himself was lost. It is akin to Jesus’ answer to His parents when they lost him, isn’t it? Many a time we assume that adults know better.

Mrs Kao then went on to share three elements found in our heavenly Father’s house:

1. The Journey of wisdom
   • when one needs to listen, seek and ask
2. Walking with the Lord
   • when one often thinks a great deal of our own ability and forgets who Jesus is.
3. Rooted downwards
   • When one serves in the House of the Heavenly Father and see our wisdom grow and our lives continuously renew with the love of God and man.
