JESUS IS EXCELLENT
Testimony by Sister Geok Lian
I was wondering how I should tell my testimony. I will start by giving thanks to Jesus for leading me out of my dark and painful life.
In 2007 I was divorced and I was very happy that I could finally walk out of my broken life. However, around the same time, I also lost my elder sister who was very close to me. When she passed on, I could not understand why this must happen. I was very down, feeling painful and desperate. My life seemed to be cast into darkness again. Worse, my job was unstable, and I did not have a place to stay – I was staying at my friend’s factory. One day, Pastor Png and Yoke Hwee came to visit me and advised me to leave the factory, because the environment was not conducive for living. They helped to arrange and provide me with a better accommodation. I am thankful to them for what they have done for me. I believe that whatever I need God will provide at the right time for me.
A year later, my younger sister called me to inform that my second sister was hospitalized and would be admitted to the Institute of Mental Health(IMH) the following day. I was feeling very down and was thinking to myself that, after taking away my elder sister, the evil one now wanted to take away my second sister. That night I brought my Holy Bible to the hospital. When I entered the room, I saw my second sister lying on the bed. I felt so sad because that would be the last night for her in the normal ward as the next day she would be transferred to the IMH. My face was covered with tears. I searched the bible that I had brought along to find out how I could pray for the sick. The Word came to me in Revelation 15 which talks about Seven Angels and Seven Plagues. I asked who could help at this time. Then I saw 2 brothers-in-Christ who arrived at the hospital, so I informed a brother to contact seven church leaders to pray for my second sister. After three days, my second sister recovered. Jesus is so excellent!
I had faith that from then my life story would be a happy one. Five years later I was baptized and my life has been going on well - everything is happening in my best interest. Even during moments of setbacks, I trust that all things can work for the better.
Thank you, Jesus. I am thankful for this day. I am thankful for this very moment.
