Title: Pray without ceasing
Pray without ceasing
Bro Chua‘s signature wry humour and straight face remarks were all the rage again in this morning’s message. He spent much time examining the reasons why it was so impossible for man to pray unceasingly.
Chief among the reasons is satan himself is actively sowing seeds of doubt in us and as a result we often feel we are never good enough for God and so we draw further and further away from Him. This can also lead man himself to want to play God but all his problems will still remain unsolved over the years. It happened with Adam and Eve and little has changed. The essence of such a relationship with God is that man will take care of his own affairs but when he dies, he hopes God will still graduate him to Heaven.
To overcome all this is to ask ourselves what the will of God is in our lives. It is to ask God to open the eyes of our heart to see.
Bro Chua then shared about his own divorce and after all the initial misgivings surrounding it, he felt he was able to then account to God for all that had happened and He had accepted him despite all the initial negativities. In fact he felt perhaps that also fell into God’s plan and as a result, he was able to share what he had gone through so that God’s good will may be seen too.
To translate into practice of how we can pray unceasingly he gave an example of being put into a position where God want us to see and accept the person next to us as being blessed no matter how detestable this person may be. It is because God is using us to bless him/her. Not only that and if we can go the extra mile to bring this the good will of God to him/her, then we ourselves are blessed too.
In conclusion Bro Chua shared a heart-warming story of a non- believer’s visit to a school for the deaf and mute. The non-believer very insensitively asked the students how if they were believers could become deaf and mute but he was able to hear and speak well. The students were hurt by this question but after a while, a little girl went to the chalkboard, climbed on the table and wrote ‘God, yes, your beautiful plan is as such’.
