Title: The soft voice from God
The soft voice from God
Increasingly I find it more and more difficult to just flesh out the gem from the message and write on it without doing a summary of the message. I feel it is not doing justice to the message as it provides the background to where I would find my gem. It happened this morning too.
Bro Chua said God wants us to listen to Him so how do we listen? There may be instances where God speaks to people directly and He also may speak to us through our encounters and people, especially through believers in Him.
He gave 3 points in his message how we should listen to Him as spelt out below.
- Read the bible.
He stressed that he would not need to elaborate much on this point as we would have heard much on the importance of doing this from other speakers. - He challenged the congregation not just to read the bible but also to act in accordance with God’s words to remove past beliefs which may stand in our way of spiritual growth.
- He shared that we could also pay heed to Him by seeing things from God’s perspective. He shared how some of us would suffer ‘chronic’ pain and misery over many years because we never listened to Him. Although he shared 3 testimonies to illustrate this point I would pick one. He gave his own testimony of how he had to endure 26 years of ‘suffering’ because he made a decision to leave his church due to politicking. It was after when God revealed to him推委 which means repudiating his responsibility that he finally listened and understood he had fallen short of God. The ‘suffering’ then stopped.
In my closing, I like how Bro Chua said how important it is to read God’s word for the same word will be inscribed in our hearts to guide us in our passage through this life.
